FPENS – Education Network

FPENS is an active member of the civil society organizations
in Somalia and a nationally recognized leader in Education matters.
The Organization will always be remembered for its efforts in
coordinating other education sector organizations at the time
when the central government in Somalia had collapsed.

As a result of the civil war in Somalia in 1991, the education sector was one of the institutions suffered more. For instance, the teacher training institutes and the Faculty of Education (Lafole) were destroyed. In addition, a lot of the professional teachers either fled from the country or sought other jobs for better career.

Scholarships

Between the years 2010 to 2021, Fpens gave free educational scholarships to
299,817 students and spent $37,543,988

Skilled lecture from Lafole school of education and other prestigious institutions teach at BTTI and Fpens schools

Book Library & Store

Modern library centers equipped with high speed internet and education books are available at FPENS Research Center.

About Us

Fpens is an educational local umbrella organization which is community based one. It was established in Mogadishu more than 20 years ago. FPENS comprises of 145 associate members representing local NGOs that came together, to revive and rebuild Somalia’s education sector at a difficult period in the country’s history by bringing together local education sector that shared its aims.
